Sega introduced a new upgrade to the existing NAOMI boards at JAMMA 2000. Called a GD-ROM Drive Unit, it plugs into the existing board. Developers can then give finished games to arcade operators in GD-ROM format. Sega has said future titles will be shipped in this format, as the new upgrade will be released this November. True simultaneous releases in the Arcade and on the Dreamcast may not be far behind.
