Some rumors that have been reported this week claim that Dreamcast technology is implemented in Microsoft’s X-Box, making the new console compatible with DC software. Since this, a Microsoft spokesperson has stated that the X-Box will only include an Intel CPU and two Nvidia graphics chips.
However, here’s a potential reason why DC owners should fork over cash for an X-Box…it appears that AM2 of CRI’s Virtua Fighter X will be too hot to handle on the Dreamcast in terms of graphics, and can only be brought to home on Microsoft’s console. This appears to be hinting at Sega’s plans to crossover into rival platform territory, though AM2 of CRI is considered an independent developer.
We’ll bring you any more information on these two stories when the Sonic Scene knows more.
