$300m project in Japan cancelled
An update to the news we brought you First at TSSZ — not only is Sega’s Korean division a casualty of big cutbacks for Sega Sammy Holdings, but so is a giant arcade planned in Yokohama, Japan.
Reports indicate Sega’s doing OK. It’s the pachinko and amusement side of Sammy that’s forcing the $300 million arcade site to be scrapped. The company has already spent $227 million toward the effort, buying just some of the 10 acres of land the site would have been on.
