First at TSSZ: Secret Rings Prototype Disc Revealed

This single disc may be all the Sonic community knows about beta builds of Sonic and the Secret Rings for the Nintendo Wii.
Today drx, who previously provided to the Sonic community dozens of Sonic and Sega related beta releases, uploaded this single photo of what he calls a prototype disc of Sonic and the Secret Rings.
The item is rare in of itself; it is burnt on RVT-R disc technology, and finding a player to even read the data on it is rare. The discs do not play on Wii consoles that are sold in stores, according to drx. He continues:
It’s not terribly interesting, as you can see, the date is close to the release, and the version is 1.00c, which would mean it’s either final or very close to final. If it’s not final, it *could* be interesting. One of the Gamecube protos had an SVN login somewhere in the files, this one could have some debug functions left or whatever other leftovers.
Even if data could be extracted, drx claims he wouldn’t dump it for the masses anyway, in an effort to protect his unknown source sending him the goods.
As this is still April Fools Day, there was speculation on Sonic Retro that the disc was a hoax. However, sources indicate and confirm on the board that this is the real deal.
Any new information we’ll pass along here, first at TSSZ.
