Sonic Unleashed In Play Magazine May Issue

Play Magazine (American version) has announced that Sonic Unleashed will be featured in the upcoming May issue early next month. Play will have the first in-depth interview with new Sonic Team producer Yoshihisa Hashimoto, opening the interview with the below statement:

“…Yes, I think this will be the game Sonic fans have been waiting for. Sonic will be reborn in the state he always should have existed in with a new control scheme, fresh new gameplay elements, all while simultaneously returning to Sonic’s roots.

Our goal has been to polish and bring to the fore the most attractive elements of classic Sonic gameplay, while also adding something completely new. The whole development team is aiming to make Sonic Unleashed the best Sonic game ever, and that includes the Genesis-era titles! We hope that even people who haven’t played Sonic games will feel “Wow, Sonic is back!” and maybe even be motivated to buy a next-gen game console if they’ve been sitting on the fence,” and it only gets better from there.

Sonic will likely be featured on the cover of Play using the same official artwork that was used on the Official Nintendo Magazine earlier this month, as confirmed by the Sega FTP incident. Play also posted new screenshots from Sonic Unleashed, with most of them featuring location shots:
