“Pachislots” at the Speed of Sonic

An update to the original news Andrew Paulson reported…when some Sonic fans begged for a more mature franchise, this may not be what they had in mind.

It turns out Sonic Live is part of what’s being dubbed a “Pachislot” series from Rodeo Entertainment (a subsidiary of Sega Sammy Holdings.)

Perhaps this image will be helpful in what Sonic Live’s going to be.  Matching up some of your favorite characters could net you some big time Yen.  Get some 7s and you’re raking in the rings.  There even looks to be a Chao Garden variant, which has you match up Chao in various Sonic garb (you can even see one dressed like Tails!)

Think Rodeo’s done milking Sega franchises yet?  Don’t be so sure.  We’ve uncovered that there’s a Virtua Fighter “Pachislot.”  That one’s going to try and integrate some fighting mechanic into Japanese gambling by utilizing something called “Asist (sic?) Replay Time” and something resembling a storyline.  Gambling never had such a back plot.

Thanks to the Green Hill Zone forums for the photos.
