Nintendo Recalls Lead Lapel Pins

Levels Deemed Unsafe; Impacts 4 Years of Sales

A gaming company has been hit by the United States lead recall madness in a very unusual way–but you still may want to pay attention, especially if you’ve been given any freebies of late from Nintendo.

The company is recalling all lapel pins sold or given away via its Nintendo World store in New York, as well as its Fun & Games employee store in Redmond, Washington.  The items were made between 2004 and 2007.

The pins depict flagship Nintendo characters, and measure anywhere from a half inch to 2 inches in diameter.  We’ve provided a small sampling of what this entails to your right.  You can see Mario, Pikachu, Bowser, and various Kongs are among the impacted items.

If you have these pins, you are urged to call Nintendo at 1-800-431-0971 and arrange to have replacement pins sent.  There’s no word right now on how many pins are affected in the recall.
