Hack Reveals 4 Sonic Characters Missing from Gameplay

Sega On is reporting that information sent into them reveals four Sonic characters were axed from the final roster in Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games.

The web site reports Silver, Jet the Hawk, Espio the Chameleon and Big the Cat were all in development for the game–even so far as to have character models created for some, but were ultimately trashed for the final version.  There is no word on if any characters from the Mario universe received similar treatment, nor is there any hard evidence to track where this information came from.

We do, however, have this screenshot.  The shot depicts Silver bouncing on a trampoline in the game.  Hoax watchdogs may want to take note of how jagged Silver looks–and for that matter, how the whole arena looks.

We’ve thrown an E-Mail to Sazpaimon of Sonic Cult to see if this news has originated from the hacking community over there, or if anyone has any more detailed information on the matter.  If we get word back with some further details on this, we will pass it along to you as soon as possible.
