Wii Sells 6 Million in Japan

2M of Fanbase Owns Wii Fit

Console dominance continues in the Nintendo Wii across the Pacific.  Not too long after the console hit the 5 million unit benchmark, now comes word from the Mainichi Daily News that 6 million units have been sold in Japan.

More intriguing from the article (Japanese) is that of the 6 million sold, 2 million have Wii Fit accompanying them.  The fitness-centric title has only been out in Japan for less than six months.

They’re no GTAIV, but Fit, along with Brawl and Mario Kart Wii are credited with the big boost in such a short amount of time.
