id Software Exits ESA

Org. now down to 24 members

As first reported on TSSZ’s 5PM Ringcast on Friday, id Software has bowed out of the Entertainment Software Association, the ESA.

GamePolitics.com has confirmed with an id rep that the house that Doom built is no longer a member of the organization that in part puts together the E3 Media and Business Summit.

id Software’s departure follows the lead of Activision, Vivendi and LucasArts. The ESA’s membership now sits at 24 gaming groups.
