Sega To Keep Mario & Sonic Ads Running Hard

Andrew Paulson, Managing Editor | June 2, 2008

Sega plans on re-marketing Mario & Sonic throughout Christmas in the UK…

With the continued success of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games in the UK, it’s no surprise that Sega plans a re-marketing campaign for the game throughout the Christmas season. Sega has a goal to keep the title in the UK All Formats top five until Christmas. So far the Wii & DS title has sold over 1.2 million in sales in the UK since last year’s launch. Sega’s UK boss Alan Pritchard had this to say to MCV:

“We will re-advertise this title heavily and continue re-marketing it all through the year. We’ve sustained sales at 25,000 a week. Even GTA IV, Wii Fit and Mario Kart haven’t dented it that much. Importantly, it has held price too.”

Currently there is a new TV ad campaign being produced for air-time soon in the UK for Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games.
