First @ TSSZ: What is Sonic World Adventure?

Andrew Paulson, Managing Editor | June 5, 2008

Could it be a new name for Sonic Unleashed or just a silly mistake?

Recently Amazon.com has added a new product for pre-order, Sonic World Adventure, a Prima Official Game Guide. Currently there is no revealing information on this mystery strategy guide except for the fact that it has a release date of November 4th, 2008, which is the exact same release day as Sonic Unleashed. Does Sega plan on renaming Sonic Unleashed to help line it with the Sonic Adventure series or is this just a simple mistake by Amazon and Prima Games?

Sonic World Adventure as a title would match the description and storyline of Sonic Unleashed, so it wouldn’t be that big of a stretch as a possible change of name. Just take a look at a few sentences recently from Sega’s Sonic Unleashed preview website:

A global adventure: Journey and explore seven unique, rich and vibrant continents; sprint across cobbled streets or race through lush jungles on a quest to save the world.
The unexpected: With a massive world as Sonic’s new playground, follow multiple paths and routes that presents different encounters, rewards and obstacles at every turn, as an unexpected storyline unfolds.

Currently the guide is listed at a retail price of $19.99 and has 176 pages in all. Stick around TSSZ News as new information is released on this.

Sonic world adventure was the games original title but it’s since been changed to sonic unleashed but the original title is still being used in japan as it’s real title.
Hopefully Prima will change the stratergy guides title, or they would look like complete idiots.
