360 Edition Outsells PS3 Edition Almost 2-1
Not even a sold out Wii Fit could stop the Grand Theft Auto IV moneymaking machine.
In all, the Take Two Interactive title took the top spot for software sales in May, according to NPD. More than 1.3 million units of the title were sold across both XBOX 360 and Playstation 3. It’s interesting to note, though, that the XBOX 360 edition outpaced the PS3 version by an almost two to one margin–871,000+ for the 360 versus the 442,000+ PS3 copies sold.
Mario Kart Wii took the #2 spot overall with over 787,000 sold, and Wii Fit was third, with 687,000+ sold. Wii Play and Super Smash Bros. Brawl remain in the top 10 for the month. In all, 5 of the top 10 sellers for May were Wii titles.
