HMV to Begin Used Game Sales

Tristan Oliver, Founder | July 3, 2008

Rollout through next year in UK, Worldwide

UK-based global chain HMV, long behind the curve on selling used games, has changed course.

Perhaps seeing dominant competitors Gamestop and EB Games making tons of money off the exchanges, the retailer will begin selling used games at some of its locations in the UK in the next few months, with a more global initiative expected in 2009.

In doing so, not only will HMV be on par with its Britain-only competitors, but it will step up to the plate with Gamestop, who has seen the selling and exchange of used games to be a multi-billion dollar business.
