Wii Continues to Outsell PS3 in Japan

MGS4 can’t derail Nintendo success

The gaming juggernaut that is Nintendo Wii can’t even be stopped by Solid Snake.

Despite the blockbuster release of Metal Gear Solid 4 exclusively for the Playstation 3, Nintendo still managed to take the top sales spot for consoles in Japan.  The Wii sold 235,990 consoles for the month of June, compared with just 139,494 PS3 consoles.

If you’re curious, the XBOX360 is still failing in the Land of the Rising Run.  Just 10,964 units were sold over the month there.
