Report: Nintendo Denies Widescreen DS Rumors

Calls Reports “Rumor and Speculation”

This image to the left, seen in the latest edition of Nintendo Power, set off a string of rumors that Nintendo may be working on a new widescreen edition of the Nintendo DS.  The ad for Disgaea DS quickly circulated around the Internet and, conveniently a week before the E3 Media and Business Summit–speculation was turned up to 11.

Not so fast.

Nintendo tells Eurogamer that the rumors are just that, “purely rumor and speculation.”  They would not comment further.

We’ll know for certain by the end of E3.
