New art for E3 and a Behind Closed Doors Demo

Very Little is known about Platinum Games upcoming title for 360 and PS3 except that it is striving to be better than Devil May Cry. Bold claims for sure but when they come from Hideki Kamiya , the man who created Devil May Cry, Vewtiful Joe, Okami and others, such claims make you sit up and listen. So a very shot glimpse of Bayonetta was given behind closed doors at E3.

Sega revealed a short section of a level where Bayonetta — the character — ran through what looked like a cathedral into an outdoor area with holographic-looking civilians walking around. According to Sega representatives, these are characters that exist in an alternate dimension who can’t see you, but can see the destruction you cause. Clearly, this will play into the game’s story, but we don’t know much about how at this point.

it’s the level of over-the-top-ness that will probably separate the game from its competitors. When Bayonetta performs a special attack — such as making a giant shoe drop onto an enemy — it’s her hair transforming into that giant shoe. What’s more, this hair actually makes up her outfit, which looks like a leather costume under normal circumstances but leaves her body bit by bit as she performs attacks.
