Revogamer Talks Sonic Unleashed Wii With Sega

Spanish website talks to Sega, Wii version expected at this year’s TGS…

Spanish gaming website Revogamer.net was at this year’s Games Convention in Germany and had a chat with Sega regarding the Nintendo Wii version of Sonic Unleashed.  Most of the new details regarding the Wii version are related to how we’ll be controlling Sonic using both the Wiimote and Nunchuck. Movement of the Wiimote will accelerate Sonic whereas the Nunchuck will be used to move Sonic. Quicksteps will be done using the “Z” and “B” buttons. Also noted in the article is the lack of motion controls for attacking while in the air. It seems while observing some of the gameplay of Sonic Unleashed (Xbox 360 version) at the Games Convention, RevoGamer noticed  some problems controlling Sonic at low speeds, such as walking for rings.

One of the biggest questions we’ve had regarding the Nintendo Wii version of Sonic Unleashed has been about how similar the design and gameplay will be to the Xbox 360/PS3 versions. RevoGamer mentions that the design and gameplay will be closer then first thought, even if it’ll be developed by two different teams. It seems we get different answers related to this question every time, so we’ll just have to wait and see.

According to Sega, the Nintendo Wii version will be shown at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show in October. A game that will likely not appear at TGS this year will be Nintendo Wii’s Sonic and the Black Knight, it appears Sega wants to focus on Sonic Unleashed first.

Special thanks to Chaotic Blu from the SSMB for the heads up and some translation help.
