Fans Already Praise Physics Engine
The project that has seen coverage on some major gaming media outlets has finally seen its first tech demo released to the public.
Sonic 2 HD, an attempt to faithfully recreate elements of the original Sonic 2 mixed with new additions, is now available for download for the first time. You may note when first opening the RAR file that there are several renditions of the project for play–all evidently of the same areas, but with differing resolutions and zoom.
The S2HD team recommends a 2.4 GHz processor and 2 GB of RAM for gameplay, as well as a graphics card with 512 MB RAM.
Thus far there have been glowing reviews, particular to the attention of physics in the game. But, as the team notes, there is far more in the works beyond a full HD rendition of Sonic 2:
S2HD will not be limited only to presenting a beautiful graphical and musical version of the original. New features that were not present in the original will also be made available. Some examples are especially the online multiplayer modes and extra levels.
Given initial reaction thus far, this could be one of the most anticipated projects since Sonic 1 Megamix. We’ll continue to track S2HD’s progress here. And if you’ve played it, feel free to leave your thoughts below.

Whoa, these guys outdid themselves on the engine and graphics! Love IT!!!! I hope the next demo contains a whole Level/Act!
I have followed the project since I first heard of it and I saw the huge progress they made, RESPECT!
