Internet Rumor or dream match made real? We’ll know by Thursday
This is an interesting one folks. Following a trail of leads like breadcrumbs through the internet I’ve arrived at the source of an interesting rumour doing the rounds. Protodudes Rockman Corner, reliable source of Megaman 9 information recently claim that a Sega vs Capcom game will be shown at this weeks Tokyo Game Show. Dubbed “Great Clash Generation” the game would apparently be seeing a Japanese release soon.
The game is described as a “hybrid RPG-fighting game” coming out on the Nintendo DS in Q1 2009 with a “likely” PSP port later in the new year.
Alas, no 2D Marvel vs Capcom beat-em-up carnage but still an interesting concept.
Sega is said to be working with Dimps on the game with Capcom watching closely, presumably to make sure Sega don’t screw things up.
Obviously this is a heavy rumor and until we have further proof so it’d be wise not to get too excited at the prospect of a Akira vs Ryu or Sonic vs Megaman RPG battle.
The Tokyo Game Show starts this Thursday. Expect coverage of all things blue, spiky and Sega right here.

With Capcom watching closely so Sega won’t screw things up? If Capcom doesn’t trust Sega, Capcom should’nt be making a game with Sega.
I doubt they expect Sega to “screw up”, I think it’s more in the lines of Capcom making sure Sega uses their properties correctly. Think of it the same as Nintendo watching over Sega as they worked on Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games.

bah, i would have preferred if Capcom was in charge on this game along with Dimps,even with Capcom watching closely,Sega is bound to screw something up.Still this crossover game,if it is true,sound interesting and i will keep a eye on this.
Meh. If real, will buy only if includes any Sonic characters. Which, unlike previous Sega collabs, better have a large amount of Sonic characters. I’d much rather a Sonic VS Mario / Sega VS Nintendo RPG-Fighting, since I really don’t care much about Capcom. But seriously, SonicVS Mario RPG-Fighting pitting all the characters who would make good rvals against each other. (IE: Sonic VS Mario / Tails VS Luigi / Shadow VS Wario / Rouge VS Waluigi etc.)
