Does this brand new magazine scan hint at a possible playable Super Sonic?
Thanks to the kind folks over at SSMB for this brand new Japanese Sonic Unleashed magazine scan, which seems to focus on Super Sonic quite a bit. Now before we get our hopes up, the smaller screenshot in the scan is of Super Sonic from Super Smash Brothers Brawl. What seems to be the most interesting part of this scan is the new 3D Super Sonic render that is actually based off of a Sonic Channel Super Sonic artwork. A few have translated some of the most readable parts of this scan and there doesn’t seem to be any new information on Super Sonic.
We do know that Super Sonic will be featured in the opening intro movie, but many Sonic fans still hold out hope for fully playable Super Sonic stages. Check out the scan below, thanks to our pal Dabbido for the tip:

It’s a pre-rendered image of Super Sonic that we’ve not seen before and I think general consensus is that the other image is from Brawl. Saying that I’d love to see Super Sonic playable in levels. It’d be greatness.
So…I’m the only one who finds this to be pointless? We all know that Super Sonic is always a PC. It’s not even worthy of an update! /: It’s as obvious as Sonic being in the game at some point! What’s a surprise, is when Super ISN’T a PC. I don’t think tat image is from Brawl.
Yes, it’s from Brawl. And SLC, that’s kinda negative there. What everyone means is that Super Sonic will be playable during stages, not just the final battle.
I think what most want to know and are curious about is if Super Sonic will be a playable character through all of Sonic’s daytime stages. Now most expect the usual Super Sonic finale as has been the case in mostly all Sonic games since Sonic Adventure (including handheld titles). But what most want is the ability to play as Super Sonic in regular stages, which hasn’t been seen since Sonic & Knuckles.

General, are you sure? I zoomed in, it looed similar, but, the graphic style seemed a bit different. As for SS in normal stages, he was fully PC in Adventure, but, I just don’t see the big deal. In matte of fact, I thnk it’s kinda cheating. It’s like taking all the fun out of the game. “oh, lololololol liek i dun wun figt im i fly ovr ol levlorz lolololol”
I don’t see Super Sonic as “cheating” when it comes to being playable in regular stages, I see it more as adding replayability to the game after you beat it. It adds to the fun of the game, and might even add another dimension to the game after you zip through it the first time.
To me, it ruins it. You can just fly right over everything. Oh, so fun. Want fully PC SS? Go hack the game. I just see it as very pointless, and taking fun away from the game. But, that’s just me.
