Amazon Sells Out on Discount, UK Shop Still with Fire Sale
You can either take this as good news for you, or really bad news for Sega.
The bargain discounts are already beginning for Sonic Unleashed at some retailers around the world. Amazon.com had the game at deep discounts over the Thanksgiving/Black Friday holiday, and so many people bought into it (no pun intended) the game sold out at the online retailer.
The game appears to be slowly getting back in stock, but apparently no longer at the $30 rate for the Wii, $25 for the XBOX360, or $15 for the PS2 that it was over the holiday.
But UK Sonic fans have little to fear. ASDA has also offered deep discounts on all versions of the game, including the not yet released PS3 edition. The Wii edition is going for about £25, with both the XBOX360 and PS3 editions going for about £30. The PS2 edition is selling for almost £13.
The news is good for gamers who have been holding out on getting a copy. It may not be good for Sega, however. When a game is discounted this early, it is usually an indicator that copies at full price are not moving.

Well, they’re not moving at full price, but they’re SELLING OUT at half price. If they weren’t selling out at half price, that’s when I’d be concerned.
I remember hearing news stories that pre-orders had been selling out prior to release…maybe they were discounted as a retailer ploy?
