Only 5,400 Copies Sold
Maybe Yuji Naka should have stuck to Sonic.
Sonic Unleashed beat out Naka and Prope’s debut title in its first week of sale in Japan, but not by very much. While Unleashed only sold 5,800 copies, Let’s Tap for the Wii debuted to just 5,400 sold for the week beginning December 15th–poor even by Japanese standards.
The game was one of many Sega published titles fighting for market share in the week before Christmas.
As there are some domestically who would like the game to cross the Pacific, these sales figures potentially put that possibility in serious jeopardy. The next several weeks in sales should ultimately determine whether Naka’s first outing under Prope will be respectable, or a total dud. We will keep you informed of the game’s progress.

Heh. Apparently no one cares if Sonic isn’t in it.
Guy Incognito: True nobody cares only if theirs sonic news.
