Of course bad reviews doesn't mean bad sales. This is Sonic we're talking about people! Game can be the worst thing ever and yet it will still sell.

Reviews don't matter, its what you think of the game yourself.

Check out Star Wars: Force Unleashed. It wasn't well received, but somehow the 360 Version hit a million units while the Wii version is almost there. Also, Wii Music

I think if anything, the power of reviews may be starting to weaken a bit.

As for the poll, I voted maybe(But then again, Let's Tap didn't do so hot in Japan. Heck, I heard No More Heroes didn't do so well in Japan ether. Is Originality on its way out of gaming because we don't care anymore?)

Well like it or not, reviews to some extent, DO in fact effect sales. Just depends on who the buyer is. If it's a casual gamer, (or average person) then they're more likely to eat whatever some douchefag says on his blog or in a magazine right up. More hardcore gamers (or a wiser person) will probably take what they say with a grain of salt. Not to mention the developer shoehorning a great review in their ads. "10/10!! -IGN" Shit like that always helps.

Myself, if I'm truly interested in a game, I'll try it out before tossing it aside. Give it a fair shake, and move on. Reviews are just opinions, anyway. Take them for what you will.

----
Oh and to clarify: I didn't imply that hardcore gamers = more intelligent people. We all know better than that. :P

The reviews were too late. We bought before the reviews came out.

And we don't regret it for the most part.
