First @ TSSZ: SBK Playable at NY Comic Con

Problem is…Sega’s not Officially Listed as Exhibitor

Sega of America’s official blog states that Sonic and the Black Knight will make an appearance with three other Sega games at next month’s New York Comic Con.  It’ll be the first time the public can get their hands on the game.

That’s great news for Sonic fans who have made the commitment to attend the 2009 NYCC from February 6th through the 8th, and may push those who were just thinking about going to make that commitment.  SBK will join Madworld, The House of the Dead: Overkill, and The Conduit as playable titles on the show floor.

Here’s how the SoA blog spun it late yesterday:

Surprise! Previously unmentioned in our last community blasts, we’d like to announce that Sonic and the Black Knight is also going to be making a showing at next month’s event! This will be one of the first times the public has actually seen the game, so if you’re a Sonic fan or want to see how the game is looking, you can swing by the SEGA booth to see it firsthand!

There may be one small issue, however.  We checked the official exhibitor list this morning for the NYCC…and Sega’s not listed.  Other gaming companies such as Namco, Atari, and Square Enix are listed, and Archie Comics, the company that publishes the Sonic series of comics, will be there.  So, if Sega will make an official appearance, at this point it’s unclear whether they will share space with another exhibitor, or if Comic-Con organizers simply haven’t updated their list.  We will certainly let you know if that situation changes.

TSSZ News will cover at the 2009 New York Comic Con.  I’ll be on the show floor in one way or another on Saturday, February 7th and Sunday, February 8th and I’ll report back each evening with everything you need to know from the event.
