Includes First look at HUD Setup
Just in minutes ago, with thanks to a news tip from edzepp, we learned of a couple new screenshots and a new trailer released for Sonic and the Black Knight through the way of Japanese site GPara.
The screens include some CGI elements, as well as a first look at the HUD system. Right now, the HUD appears quite clean, and it appears the true staples of Sonic gameplay–collecting rings and time elements–will remain here.
Some thus far have reported problems with viewing the trailer. So, we’ve hosted just the screenshots here, below. You can go here to watch the video directly. Ehh…Merlina is not hot looking and looks about my age O.o
If you stop the trailer at 20 seconds you can see Sonic holding a chili dog.

Tha’ts so awsome, that black bird(Don’r remember the name in englishXD) look so real so I first though it was the wrong trailer/movie. Look at those graphics on the stages, they’re incredible awsome! And Sonic didn’t slow down when you killed anymies, only a bidder one(probably stronger that the others). I’m so happy!XD

Well look at that, Merlina really is just the Shahra of this game, of course we all saw that coming.
Geez, all that slice through the enemies reminds me of all the alien killing in Shadow except this is more faster and has a little more “blood”.
The CG intro looks nice as always and it is all I like in this trailer.
I wonder if that purple stuff that comes out of enemies counts as animated blood?
The model of Sonic is a little like Unleashed in the cutscenes, but otherwise he resembles the Sonic of Secret Rings. And, unfortunately, to me it looks like he’s running forward automaticlly.
Still, it looks quite impressive.

This was Amazing! T´hey made the sword perfect! Sonic dance aronud with it like it was nothing and thats what I like! That he is fast with the sword too and not just with the legs! But he’s not as fast as Meta Knight!
This game looks WAY better than Unleashed Wii. Unleashed 360 is still the best Sonic game other than Sonic 3 & Knuckles though.

Okay, according to an ONM handson preview…this game isn’t “run forward automatically”. You can slow down and go backward.

heh. That grassy area had what looks like platforming areas…I assume Black Knight trailers are pomoting combat like Unleashed trailers promoted speed and fast automatic segments. I’m sure platforming exists…Secret Rings had decent platforming(except for the terrible controls).
I remember when I thought this game was fake, and I said I’d eat my hat if it was real. My hat didn’t go good with salt, but I tried barbacue sauce and it worked.

Well, SFtW, they both have pointy ears. It’s not too similar, but you can tell a slight influence.
I actually like Merlina. As long as she doesn’t fall in love with the fucking Black Knight, I’m fine. Oh, and she can’t bitch about Sonic’s attitude.

SFtW, also, you should look at her face and hair style. It resembles Shahra’s, but they clearly have differences.

I don’t like when a human is one of the main characters! Ok, I liked proffesor Pickle in SU, but he was so fun! Merlina is not fun! She is annoying!

Werehog, seriously think about this. With making animal characters you have to make then antropic looking. And hardly any of the Sonic characters look like their animal forms. So it would be easier to make humans rather than making humanoid animals. Which is code for (SEGA IS LAZY).
