Some Disputed Original Source
Given the wild worldwide success of the original Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games, it seemed like a no-brainer that a follow-up would be planned.
IGN’s take on the story claims to confirm, through independent sources, that a sequel meant to tie in with the 2010 Winter Olympics is in the works. IGN claims the title will be unveiled officially in the next month.
Before IGN’s digging, some Sonic faithful were quick to point out that the original source of the information, Spain’s Nintendo Acción magazine, has been very unreliable in past issues, dishing out outright false information in an effort to glue more eyeballs to the magazine.
One of those in that camp is Sonic Stadium forumer Ferr, who cautioned about the authenticity of the original information:
Well, I’m from Spain and Nintendo Accion is kinda famous to announce games that later don’t exist… I remember they announced Excite Truck 2, yet it was false.
Ferr expects the new Nintendo Acción to be out in mid to late February. We hope to have new information on this follow-up crossover much sooner. Stay with TSSZ News as we continue to track developments.

More likely than ever.
Oh well, I don’t care if it is not a platformer, and I am enjoying the first Olympic games with Mario and Sonic. This game should be just as fun!
I’d much rather a full fledged platformer with a large variety of characters (20+ from both series, please?) but, I’ll glady take this.
This could be interesting.
I hope the game doesn’t require a Wii Fit though…. Can’t afford one yet xP
I can’t find one… /:
