“Knight in Training” Has You Deflecting Apples

If the real game is as mind-numbingly simple as the recent Flash game based on Sonic and the Black Knight–or, at least, featuring characters shown in the upcoming Wii title thus far–there may be problems.

As it stands, the game on Neopets.com, dubbed “Knight in Training,” appears to be officially sanctioned and sponsored by Sega–in the sense that there are copyright notices for both Sega and Nintendo, and there are embedded links to the game’s trailer.

However, the actual game merely has Sonic, with a sword, deflecting apples being chucked at him by Knuckles, Shadow, and Blaze.  They’re all in medieval garb, and players use the arrow keys to control Sonic–nothing more.

The fundamental irony in all of this is that we were told at the New York Comic Con the apples were part of an overall health system.  Get hit by too many in this Flash game, and your game is over.

    Bah, most all Neopets sponsor games are like that. Nothing to be concerned about.

    lol memories! Haven’t actually visited my pet in…actually u really don’t wanna know.
    I tried the game, it more mind melting than trying to learn surds…

    Wow, that game sucked. Usually, tie-in flash games on Neopets are atleast a little bit fun, but seriously…
