Can What’s Left of “No Drama ’09″ Survive Through March?
A TSSZ News @Issue poll of 733 respondents shows that many believe the relative calm that exists in the Sonic community will not survive when Sonic and the Black Knight is released next month. Those numbers held in spite of the first review of the game, from Nintendo Power magazine, offering a more positive outlook.
Of those who were polled, 55% believe community unrest will resume upon the game’s release. Another 32% responded with “Maybe”–indicating it’s at least possible the situation will develop.
Only 13% of those polled said it wouldn’t happen.
Sonic community leaders vowed to quell fan drama on message boards this year after emotions reached a boiling point regarding the mediocre reception of Sonic Unleashed in the major gaming press. TSSZ News has been criticized not only for covering certain points of the tension, but reporting on the scores that prompted it. Despite the commitment, some administrators have had problems following their own mandate.

There will always be some sort of drama.
Yeah, even outside the Sonic franchise, there will always be some sort of internet drama.

Regardless of what the Sonic games contain, there will ALWAYS be someone whining and complaining about every little thing in the games.
I noticed that the fan base was separated into three categories when the Were-hog was announced.
1 – Don’t care at all
2 – loved it and thought it was amazing
and then finally….
3 – outraged fan boys who cried their eyes out and whined like that guy in the “Leave Brittney Alone” video…..or WORSE.
At least…..that’s what I’ve noticed and all that is from my point of view.

You do realize that the drama in this community stems from people complaining about review scores, right? It’s not just those who hate the game. Far from the truth! It’s exclusively all the people who like the game who take it upon themselves to chuck their two cents at each review, like whether a site or review “bias” or “ignorant.” Why are people fighting websites? They can’t do anything about it. It’s all a futile bitchfest.
This site doesn’t help either. It posts every single review score that comes in and leeches off of all of you. Everybody comes into to complain over and over, then Tristan rolls in page hits and ad revenue. It’s genius, really.
This is how I think it should go:
-official review Sites, like IGN and Gamespot should focus more on game-play, graphics, music, voice-acting, and controls, like facts.
-unofficial reviewers, like me or somebody else, can say whatever they want.
Also I noticed for a lot of news sites, like this one for intense, there always 1 good news article to every 20 bad news, seriously, what the hell?
I don’t see why people care so much either really.
Sonic Fan Community – SRS BUSINESS. Apparently. I’m sick of seeing that bloody ‘No Drama 09′ rubbish too. Get lives. Like Ayling said, it’s the Internet, there will always be drama.
No surprise to me. I have only been involved in this fanbase, but I have already learned about or understand it well.
How much does anyone wanna bet that some of the hate that will drive the drama will come from the amount of fans who have built up their hate since the game was released?
Not all hate that I mention will come from what I mentioned, but you get the point.

I think that the people who hate this game will just be indifferent upon its release. If they hate it now, then they’re not going to care. I’m just worried about the review bitching. That’s where all the drama lies.
@Mark Chao: Get over yourself. You’re a chronic complainer. It’s their websites and they can do whatever they want. If you want to put out a positive Black Knight review, then make your own website and type away. Fly fly. “Like facts?” Give me a break.
It’s kind of hard for you to preach objectivity to websites when you have blue hedgehog hairs bleeding out of your eyes and ass. You say that they’re “biased,” well you are FOR Sonic. Haven’t you realized that yet?
I mean, Sonic Stadium’s review of the game was on par with the rest of the critics and they’re a SONIC website and the biggest one to boot. You should take after Dreadknux and learn to detach from yourself from the super erection that you have for a blue cartoon hedgehog.
Being on Deviantart, I tend to see so many fan art butchering the character. Like one I seen today just because SBK is being featured on Gaia Online, and for the little treat you get this miniature Sonic as an award for watching the trailer.
However, some dislike Sonic is advertising, and decided to bash him for that. Even if half of them being biased about it are SONIC fans. They just hate seeing him in public marketing. Grah, they have to make money idiots. I’m rather glad to see Sonic is pulling the ropes out there.
As the matter of fact, Mario is spammed more then Sonic, so stop the drama lama. Let the hedgehog be.
As for the more kid friendly turn about for this game, i can see why. People bashed Sonicteam for making Sonic Unleashed challenging. They’re giving them a break, dur. So now fans are unpleasant it turned towards a more softer apporach? What they don’t understand; as I should mention, they think the classic Sonic was easy. Blarg, it wasn’t, it was damn hard. So why the heck are they moping about? It’s Sega, it’s for hardcore gamers.
I don’t know how that 55% can be unrestful over a video game but okay.
It’s funny, by making the poll at all, it almost guarantees drama afterword.
But yeah, what kinda Sonic game would it be, if there wasn’t a nice big helping of drama on the side? :p
Another thing is that the Sonic drama kicked off this year with Mario & Sonic at Winter Olympics(And not just on the Sonic side, but also on the Mario side).
UHH. Can’t there just one Sonic game be made without anyone complaing BEFORE THEY EVEN PLAY IT!!!!!?????

I know I wont bash it
It’s inevitable. When you put a soap box in the middle of a crowded street and announce that anyone can stand on it and speak out, you’re bound to eventually get a crazy hobo spouting gibberish. Then of course, he’s heard be a just as crazy if not crazier hobo who disagrees. Next thing you know, you’ve got a bum fight! Then someone has to call the police except they’re all eating donuts and wrongfully arresting black people and….wait what was I talking about?

Its expected, the drama for SBK when it was seen for the first time was inevitable. I don’t find the sword concept a big deal anymore but I still won’t change my opinion on it.
This whole “No Drama 09′” thing is just embarrassing.
