Early Indications Show Unchanged Game
For those wondering or worried about the possibility of an improved product when the next generation Sonic Unleashed was released yesterday in Japan as Sonic World Adventure, early indications are that the game, other than being natively in Japanese, is unchanged from the Western edition.
Thus far, there have been no reports of any significant or even minor changes. Sega had to shoot down its own rhetoric a few months ago that had many wondering if Sega delayed Unleashed as a means to tweak bugs and glitches.
Better proof of this exists on YouTube. Take a look at the video below of a Japanese player’s speed run in Skyscraper Scamper Act 1. It’s under two minutes. It will quickly become evident how that was accomplished. That noted, if any discoveries are found regarding changes, we’ll be sure to let you know, along with any reaction that accompanies it.

That…was….you should NOT be running into paper thin buildings, that is not the intent. Maybe they shirked on doing the anti aliasing because they thought everybody would stay on the path? …*snickers* Yeah, right. To people staying on the path, that is.
Although the whole “do it like SA2″ style of jumping to far away rails takes all the hassle out of that section! I doubt that’s a “glitch”, persay, just a good exploit of the mechanics and a LOT of precision. It’d take me 15 tries to do any of that….
…Good speed run though!
Just goes to show, those scores in Famitsu weren’t because the game was altered, it was because the game was…you know…not THAT bad. All flimsy building materials aside. XD
Now that the game’s out, I want to see some downloadable content. IIRC, they did this with Sonic 06, wait til the Japanese version is out, then unleash the downloadables
If that shitfest had downloads I don’t see why this one can’t have any.
iNAUDiBLE: Antialiasing minimizes distortion and pixelation in 3D Games. Noclipping is what you are referring to.
