Love SBK? Hate Unleashed? Write a Letter
If you live in Japan–or can at least write decent Japanese–the Sonic Team would like to hear from you–and they’ve got prizes to entice you.
The Sonic Channel has launched a contest of sorts, but the focus is more on making suggestions on the state of the series directly to the Sonic Team. The campaign appears tied to the Japanese launch of Sonic and the Black Knight, but it appears comments can span well beyond the recent release, and include other fare, such as Sonic Unleashed.
There’s incentive to speak up–41 participants will be chosen at random to receive one of an array of prizes. They include a Werehog hoodie, a Werehog keychain, a Sonic backpack, a SBK poster, and even copies of the Archie Sonic comics.
However, your comments must be short and sweet–a maximum of 120 words. Unfortunately, it also appears you must live in Japan to participate. There’s no indication on whether the initiative will head to domestic shores, but if nothing else, it’s a clear olive branch; an indication that the Sonic Team cares what all fans of the franchise think.

Only in Japan D: Unfair.
Well if I were to participate my answer would be obvious. A game that looks like Unleashed and plays sort of like the Unleashed day time levels. Only thing is, boost is removed, spin dash is added back, Tails and Knuckles are playable, more paths, and of course no english.
Basically a Sonic 4… but in 3D/2D

Mine would be:
Sonic, Tails, Knuckles playable, Hedgehog engine, only on 360 and PS3 (DONT START!) um, more focused platforming, Levels to be like in SU daytime, Max speed for sonic to be SU`s lvl 1, knuckles stages like werehogs, and Playable Super Sonic with speacial Stages returning AND FINALLY! On the planet Mobius again
phew long! Just incase SonicTeam informs the NA and EUROPEN areas of this I`M gonna start wrighting this stuff down! Ready to send!

@Nomad- lol, I know. I was watching the Fan-art movies on Sonic and the Black Knight, and I think we finally know who the crazy people were who requested Shadow to have a gun! Almost every picture of Shadow in the Japanese Fan-art video had Shadow with a gun. Are those folks CRAZY?! Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed Shadow’s game, I’m just wondering WHY he needs a GUN?!
Interesting! If we (the dudes who don’t live in Japan), we may get an all daytime levels the next Sonic game!
However, for once, I have to agree with PJ on the boost and spin dash. I personally loved the boost, but I like the spindash better.
I would like to have Spindash and boost like in Sonic unleashed for the Wii!
My idea is Sonic and Atlantis! The third game in the storybook series. It’s in old greece with guds and stuff! And you can run under and on water a lot! I have more ideas about this but this is my idea but very short!

Lame prizes in my Opinion. The only thing that I’m intrested in is the Poster and nothing more. But I don’t live in japan so why would I even care about this shit?
Blazing Tails: Yeah I liked it too. I don’t really know why they need “guns” . But the guns are usefull for the biggar enimies.
And I woulden’t have any problem with a Shadow the Hedgehog 2 if they skipped the weapons.
Less “Sonic Rush” gameplay, adding spindash back and more plattforming paths are three of my suggestions.

I sure want to know what (or if)Sega and ST are planning something out of this.
I can write helmet in japanese… And some more stuff… But I can’t write ideas for a Sonic game… I can write the storybook games names so if someone wants a Black knight two, I can write it in japanese for you!
One thing I would want to them to start doing is having beta testers to check the finished product for any problems and to check how the controls work and if they enjoyed the game. Another thing I would recommend is the make future games longer and I don’t mean adding more missions, I mean more levels.
They must be trying to get ideas so they can make the next game but they want the fans to make the idea and they will do the rest

anyway, I think both the games were awsome. it’s just that the day levels in SU were too short, espcially the wii version. and also, what’s up with practally cutting literally, half the game out in the wii version!
SBK was great, but the stroy line was short. the graphics in that game were great, especially since it’s for the wii. i wish u could use silver in the stoey though…

Those useless wastes of space in Sonic Team are just humoring people. It’s not like they care what people suggest, since practically every 3D game ends up being shittier than the last.

I must have typed English by mistake. I really meant to say no speaking D: IMO Sonic should either stay quite or be restricted to voice boxes. I’m sorry, I just don’t like the voice actors.
Also I enjoy boost too, but I feel like it makes things too easy. Don’t assume I’m just a one note guy. Despite my hatred for Sonic and the Black Knight I don’t hate everything about modern Sonic. In fact I’d go as far to say that Unleashed for the 360 is probably in my top 5 for favorite Sonic games, after S3&K, Sonic 2, and Sonic CD (Sonic 1 is 5th. It has it’s moments but it’s too slow and complicated at points. Also Labyrinth Zone).
Oh and I forgot to mention, I would like water not being another word for a bottomless pit please. While Levels like Labyrinth were challenging, Hydrocity Zone stands as one of my favorite levels, and the underwater element adds a certain element of challenge and uniqueness to levels. And it can be done, just look at Adventure 1 and 2.
Also on another note I seem to have created enemies here lol. No hard feelings folks, just a different opinion is all. Obviously growing up with the classics has made it so that I associate Sonic with his retro titles. The modern titles have their own charm (Except Black Knight. I’m sorry you can like it if you want but it takes away almost everything that is Sonic. That is not a Sonic game with a sword. It’s a sword game with Sonic. There is a difference)

It is meant to be a spinoff though, meaning different stuff in Sonic(even though Unleashed did that too). Just like Sonic Riders, Labyrinth(eww), Drift, and etc are.
I think they should make it that Sonic can reach top speed (his boosting speed in Unleashed) just by running (His speed should gradually increase). And if players want a quick boost of speed, they can do the classic Spindash!
Or maybe they should just keep the boost and the Spindash….
Lanmanna: Sonic and the Secret Rings was a spin off too, however that was closer to the formula.
Be that as it may, I don’t know. I feel like it could have been executed better. That or the sword should have been optional.
I liked the spindash in SA2. Better than that shitty “boost” in SU wii

Sonic Unleashed daytime level style gameplay.
The character select thing to be back. Tails, Knux, Amy, Shadow, Cream, Blaze Silver and all them back to being playable. A lot of levels only 10 or so is getting annoying. like SA2 there needs to be a bunch
Also the Chaotix need to return.
Oh and more Werehog.
In any case, all I want is for the next game to have levels like the daytime levels in Sonic Unleashed. Not to mention more playable characters, some unlockable.
And bring back the spin dash too.

So to make a game like this one suggested they should unite the best things off Sonic 06 (like the platforming, and the long levels), the best things of Sonic Unleashed (like the high speed sonic, THE GRAFICS, and Super Sonic

I can do Japanese but living in England, I am unable to do anything. It’s good Sega are asking for suggestions and feedback but only asking Japanese people is not fair. If Sega want to make a *great* Sonic game, they should ask all fans (not just Japanese ones). I think this is nothing but a gimmick to give fans the illusion of influence.

As I said, you might use https://sega.jp/opinion/ for your opinions as well (so far I can only find this one, other Sega’s site do not have this). They will take English. The only differences are https://sega.jp/opinion/ doesn’t have prizes and can say more than 120 words (The last time I use that, I use more than 400 words).
