SBK Sales Stabilize

blackknightSteady Stream of Sales Continue in NA, Britain

There may be a floor being built under the sales figures for Sonic and the Black Knight, after initially robust launch week sales dropped off significantly worldwide.

In Britain, the SBK did fall in the weekly multiplatform ranks, but not a whole lot–only jumping from #20 to #22.  Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games was just above it, at #21.  The olympic title actually rose in rank from the previous week.  Meanwhile, Madworld and House of the Dead: Overkill are nowhere to be found in the multiplatform Top 40.

Meanwhile, in North America, independent tracking website VGChartz suggests the bleeding has mostly subsided for SBK’s sales.  Second week sales tanked 50% to 16,247, according to the website, but in a third week of sale, the game sold 14,442 copies–indicating some stability.  The numbers are still down, but only by less than 2,000 copies.

Sales numbers for Japan were not immediately available.

VGChartz estimates that a little under 100,000 copies of the game have been sold thus far.  That is a higher number than the website’s estimates for other recent Sega fare, such as MadWorld.
