Veteran Favorite Currently Trailing Mario, Metroid
Sonic–and in particular, his third major incarnation–needs your help right now.
Whereas the original Sonic handily took the top spot to advance in the GameFAQs Best Game Ever brackets, today’s vote that puts Sonic 3 versus Super Mario Kart, Super Metroid and Gunstar Heroes isn’t going so well. Presently, it isn’t even close–big blue is in third as of this publication, with a little over 25 percent of the vote. Super Metroid is currently tops with just under 35 percent, and Super Mario Kart is right behind it with a little over 34 percent. The gap between first and third, for the moment is just under 3500 votes, and only the top two will advance.
You can head to GameFAQs to help the hedgehog advance in the 1992-94 division, but be quick about it–this is a one day vote.

By the way, even though I like Sonic CD a little bit better than Sonic 3, I love Sonic 3 as well! And I hate Mario and Metroid! I like Gunstar Heroes. So yea, of course I voted for Sonic 3 as well. But since the world consist mostly of nintendo-…(nevermind, lets just say “nintendo fans”), there is almost no chance that Sonic 3 is gonna win.

But alas, I cannot vote today, but if I did, I would vote Sonic 3, despite the fact that the Knuckles part is missing from the vote apparently…… Too bad, since that completed the game in its entirety.

What Super Metroid and Super Mario Kart are beating Sonic 3 is this for real if you ask me its fans of Mario going against Sonic 3 Super Mart Kart and Super Metroid are not better than Sonic 3 just wait if they have Sonic 3 than could Sonic CD be on the list is it if so then that should definatly beat every game/ I voted for Sonic 3/Sonic FTW

Sonic 3 is only a decent Sonic game on its own. When it’s connected with Sonic & Knuckles, it’s pretty darn great.
I can see why it’s trailing Super Metroid and Super Mario Kart – they’re both really great games, especially Super Metroid.
Well Sonic 3 doesn’t stand a chance. Sure, it’s my favorite game, but it’s going against Super Metroid and Mario Kart. It was a very unlucky grouping for Sonic’s sake. Oh well.
I voted for Super Metroid. Just love that game to death.
IMO super mario kart is going to win this one, mainly because sonic 3 is only a half decent game on its own, while Super mario kart was the begining of an incredibally popular series, which is doing better than the current sonic games.

Super Mario Kart! Lol! It’s one of the worst games ever made! I tryed it for some weeks ago and I didn’t even win a race beacuse I died of boredom before that! Metroid prime is OK but Sonic 3 is waaaay better!
