Super Sonic Racing in a Whole New Way
There is one thing that Sonic can still do well after all these years–run fast.
Though 1997′s Sonic R and later the Sonic Riders franchise attempted to capitalize on that within the confines of a racing genre, all three didn’t quite have the execution right. So, leave it up to Sonic fandom to take the next step.
This time, Youtube user Kurofox4444 has applied Sonic speed to popular casual racer TrackMania. The Sonic skin includes a fairly constant running motion, but given the racing environment, the hedeghog has a good sense of speed not seen since Sonic Unleashed.

I really hate fan games… It’s not fare to SEGA.

Is it for the free version of TrackMania or for the Full Version?
Werehog, has Sega been fair to us? Giving us crappy Sonic game time and time again? I say fan games are perfectly fine to make and release to keep us fans appeased until the next big Sonic game. And unfortunately, I’m at school at the moment, so I can’t exactly check out the vids, so I can only assume they’re pretty sweet.
*At James* Wow, just randomly bashing SEGA there, huh? There was no need for that. Personally, the only two Sonic games I didn’t like much were Sonic Labyrinth and the Genesis version of 3D Blast. That’s my personal opinion of course. ^_^ Though I do agree that fan games are a way to keep the fans busy until the next Sonic game, I love fan games for that. ^_^
SEGA tries there best! They should be the only one make Sonic games!

You see, though it’s a matter of opinion, that doesn’t mean that you can’t say things like “Sonic games are crap now.” and get away with it, you know? That’s kinda disrespecting the opinion of the people who like the newer games, isn’t it?

BlackHawkOmega, you have a good point. I wasn’t intentionally trying to start anything. But I am really disappointed in the quality of the most recent sonic games. I have at least three to five fan games installed on my external hard drive and they’re pretty fun. ^^
I am, however, excited for the next big sonic games. The details I’ve read in Sega’s blog are making my inner Sonic fan tingle with anticipation.
I hope next main Sonic game is like with lot’s of characters and just want to be the perfect and ultimate Sonic game. It gives me creepy memories from Sonic 06. And I don’t want SEGA to leasen to all this strange reviewers. That feels bad too. SEGA should go there own way but still do the game perfect and without gimmicks, because none wants that anymore. Its enough now.
An Unleashed 2 would be good. Half listen too the people and half listen too them self. Maby it was like that they thougt when they med Sonic unleashed 1.

This is actually a mod not a fan game but….whatever!
I’m not really like all fan games, they can not make their own stupid sprites, they have to do axactly like one of the old games with some cool effects.
The only fan game that looks promising is Robo Blast 2.
But I say as werehog, half the fans way, half their own way. You know, we don’t know how hard it is the make people love every game they make cus we don’t make game ourselfs! No one can do something that everyone likes, and that’s life.
But it’s how people think, it’s the opinion.
Some people like the old Sonic games, some like the new and old and some like the new ones. You know it’s not easy for SEGA.
@James, I think this would be a little too simple, but I agree, games can be fun even if they’re simple.
