It’s a Shame You’ll Likely Never Play It
Could a prominent member of the Sonic fan community have Sonic speeding on Apple’s iPod Touch and iPhone before Sega or Gameloft?
The above photo–and the link to the larger one we have below–sure seems to indicate so. It’s from The Taxman, and it shows the Retro Sonic XG engine running mighty fine on the portable device’s screen.
So, is this a sign of things to come? Will SFGers eventually have one other outlet to port their products to? Don’t count on it.
“Sorry, I admit this one is very much a tease,” Taxman told Sonic Retro forumers this morning. “I’d be nice to have the reigns to put out XG as an app store game though. This was just me testing the Retro Engine for something else in the works.”
Taxman didn’t elaborate further on what that other project was, but given Apple’s tight requirements for submitting materials to the app store, it’s almost assured Sonic has no part. Dreamers can still dream though, by taking a look at what could be in the image below. Use your imagination.
