Koei Limiting E3 Presence on Swine Flu Fears

e3Second Major Dev to Pull Back, Sega Comments Inside

As concerns spread about the H1N1 virus in Japan that is better known as swine flu, its impact on E3 became a bit greater overnight.

Kotaku reports that the Japanese division of developer Koei hasn’t completely pulled out of the expo, but only limited personnel from that particular division will be making the trip to the show floor.  They become the second major developer to curtail their plans for the expo.

The outstanding body count will be made up by members of Koei Canada.

Though there are no travel restrictions being imposed by the Japanese government, some airports and airlines are still quarantining H1N1 cases found independently.  Decisions on whether to attend are being made independent of the growing amount of H1N1 cases, and we are happy to report that Sega will not succumb to the fears.  The company confirmed to Kotaku that their Japanese division will have a presence at this year’s expo, and that their plans have not been changed or altered due to those health concerns.
