Sega Clarifies ASR Release Formats

Expect to Own A Physical Copy…Mostly
Questions as to whether certain versions of Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing would be released different from other editions have mostly been put to rest.
Sega’s divisions have updated the official ASR website. In America, all console versions are now reflected to show a release on physical copies. This includes the Playstation 3, which was originally shown to be released on the Playstation Network–indicating it would be downloaded. But the PC edition of ASR is shown as “PC Download” on the North American site, whereas in Europe, it’s shown to be released on DVD.
The discrepancy on the PC edition between countries suggests one listing may have been made in error, and it could be the North American website showing a PC download. TSSZ News will follow up and let you know if anything changes further. But for the moment, all console players will have a physical copy of ASR, with PC players’ fates still up in the air.

Its says on sonic.wikia hopes its true: Although much is unknown about the characters, the trailer and press releases have revealed some characters. Also, there is a possibility that the following Sonic Characters Knuckles the Echidna, Cream the Rabbit, Metal Sonic, Silver the Hedgehog, Rouge the Bat and Blaze the Cat might be in the game as well as SEGA characters such as NiGHTS and Meemee.
I think Sega is focusing on today characters more than past characters like Ristar because Sega is focusing mostly on the kids so they say SU was mostly to show the gamers of the Sonic 2D games which should be the direction for the sonic series what do you guys think about all of this?
Wish list for roster of ASR :
Knuckles
Ristar
Alex Kidd
Beat
Ulala
Aiai
Billy Hatcher
Mario (Wii & DS versions)
Miis (Wii version)
Marine ( in some kind of hovercraft)
Metal Sonic
The main boy from the SEGA golfing game
The main girl from the SEGA golfing game
No, PSN just meant it was online. This was understood from the beginning. It would be too stupid of a marketing move, even for Sega, to release a Sonic themed game as download only. Especially since PS3s aren’t near the best at internet router compatability.
*playable online
@DoctorEggman
We’re talking about the formats list on the right of SEGA’s game page, not features. Playstation Network didn’t mean it was playable online or else Xbox 360 listings on SEGA’s site would be listed as Xbox Live. Take the UK Outrun Online Arcade game page for example. The game was released on Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Network in the UK, check out the game page here – http://www.sega.co.uk/games/outrun-online-arcade/?t=EnglishUK&gseoid=outrun-online-arcade
Notice instead of listing Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 SEGA have listed
Xbox LIVE®Arcade – Out Now
PlayStation® Network – Out Now
It’s their format list, not features list. They list the features under the Game Info part of the page. Hope that clears things up
sega should make sonic unlrashed 2 but there is not a word from it come on its been for a couple of year and a new movie coming soon called the incredieble hog a sonic movie out in summer 2010 hey
phillip where you get that info
@Phillip: Ditto Sonicsmashkirby; can you provide a link?
TailstheHedgehog i was asking phillip that
TailstheHedgehog oh sorry didn’t see the ditto ……………………
philip : That was an fan art not a movie
@Shadzter:
Okay, I see. Thanks for clearing that up. Still, I think common sense (common among watchful Sonic fans) would tell us that Sega woldn’t release this as a download for PS3 while the other consoles get a disc or cart.
