$200 Quickly Ponied Up
Well, that didn’t take long.
A day after the public call for funds went out–originally through the X-Cult forum and then spreading to Sonic Retro–the $200 fundraising goal was met last Wednesday.
Not hitting the target would have meant X Cult, its sister site Sonic Cult and hosted site Sonic Retro–all three prominent Sonic and video game research centers–would have faced temporary shutdowns. The quick response is testament to the importance the websites hold to their frequent visitors and forum members.
This isn’t the first time the Cult or Retro has asked for help from its members, and in those past instances, such fundraising efforts were also successful.

Retro is a fantastic site, I go there whenever I want some info on the Sonicverse, and generally, I find it.
Sonic Cult… not my thing but hey, we’re all fans, just in our own ways I guess.
I honestly wish they’d have gone down. Retro/Cult has had a monopoly on Sonic Scene discussion for a while now and I don’t like the way they do things at all.
