Jazwares to Release New Metal Sonic Figurine

Tristan Oliver | June 16, 2009

picture-14First at San Diego Comic-Con, Then Toys ‘R’ Us

What you see to the left here is a special Jazwares Urban Vinyl figurine of Metal Sonic, and if you play your cards right, it could be yours.

The special little guy, with a metallic finish, will be made available simultaneously beginning July 23rd for attendees of the San Diego Comic Con, and then online for sale at ToysRUs.com.  Toys ‘R’ Us will be the only retail carrier of the figurine.  It appears no pre-orders are being taken for them just yet, but when they are, we will let you know.

In the recent past, Jazwares Sonic figurines haven’t been easy to find, and because of that, some less than savory sellers are already putting the unreleased Metal Sonic figurine on EBay, with the promise to ship it during Comic Con weekend.

…I’ve heard figurines from the franchise can be pretty weird, but I can’t even tell if that’s good or not. It looks… like Metal Sonic but there is still something seriously wrong in the proportions.
Still, looks cool I guess, better than some of the weird and wonderful one’s I’ve seen, so epic win all the same! It would look awesome next to my werehog figurine!! I think I’ll pick it up!

John: Probably. All he does is whine about how he loves SU, instead of actual comments.

A Metal Sonic figure is good and all but I’d rather have a ‘proper’ one.

@Paul Street: They did have a proper one, it’s just that it’s pretty old and – personally I don’t like it. http://www.sonicgear.org/UKPages/UKSonicMerchandise2.html It’s somewhere in the middle of the page.

@Me: Wait, my comment was deleted. Sorry for the confusion.

  16. SLJCOAAATR / Soul on June 16th, 2009 9.24 pm

Chaos: Actually they do make a Gamma figure. It’s rather poorly made, but none-the-less, it exists.

@Paul Street: Yo. http://www.sonicgear.org/UKPages/UKSonicMerchandise2.html It’s somewhere in the middle of the page.

They should make a figure of Mephiles!

And Chaosmaster, there was a figure of Gamma in the Sonic Adventure line, though he was only in Japan.
