Already Getting Rave Reviews
Once thought to be dead, Streak Thunderstorm’s Sonic the Hedgehog: Mecha Madness has enjoyed a bit of a renaissance in recent months. With each new build released, fans and supporters keep finding great things to say about the project.
Friday’s touted “massive gigantic update,” available here, was no different.
In Streak’s own words, here’s what the update contains:
I’ve decided to change up the leveling system. It was clunky and not too focused. Now, when you defeat an enemy or do special things in-game you gain experience. This experience goes to your level. Once you reach a certain number of experience you level up. It’s all very RPG style. You have base stats and a whole slew of other stats that help or hinder your performance. I’ll let it speak for itself. Pressing space adds 1000 exp to your counter. Try not to abuse it if you’re not seeing anything happening. I haven’t programmed the level up jingle yet. You WILL see a level up indication to the left showing you the stat increases. I also laid out the base stats so you can see how you’re doing. Pressing “I” while having the fire shield equipped raises it’s energy level. Using fire moves depletes the energy shield so in-game you wont be able to abuse the moves too much.
An updated copy of the demo was then released yesterday, which we’ve linked above. The build is receiving overwhemling praise, but more questions are also being heeded by Streak Thunderstorm. Among the inquiries is zone expansion, and on that, Streak says more levels are planned, and most will be along the lines of Sonic 3 and Knuckles remakes.
This looks to be one of the SAGE shining stars, and we’ll continue to keep tabs on the game’s development.

I`m still digging that Super Metal Sonic I can`t wai to play this
