MJ Believed to have Worked on Sonic 3 Soundtrack
This is not something anyone really expects on a video game site, much less a Sonic related news source. However, it is our unfortunate duty to inform you that the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, has succumbed to cardiac arrest, and has died in a Los Angeles hospital.
The death had first been reported by tabloid entertainment website TMZ.com, who also first broke the story that Jackson was rushed to the hospital. The Los Angeles Times newspaper has confirmed the news just before 6:30PM Eastern Time.
Jackson was just 50 years old.
He had been slated to perform in London after living in near seclusion for three years. In 2005, he was acquitted of crimes related to child sexual abuse. It was not the first time he defended such allegations. Similar accusations brought in 1993 were settled early the next year for millions of dollars. It was those allegations that many in the Sonic research community believe forced Sega of America to sever ties with Jackson. As perhaps one of the world’s most famous Sonic fans in the hedgehog’s heyday, he had been rumored to be producing the soundtrack to Sonic the Hedgehog 3. It has long been researched but not yet completely proven that Jackson was yanked from the project, with in-house staff at Sega quickly rushing to alter the soundtrack. Still, elements of such Jackson classics as Stranger in Moscow and Who is It remained.
Prior to that, had been an international superstar, releasing several multiplatium albums. Originally a child star with the Jackson 5, he dominated pop of the late 1970s and 80s with such blockbusters as Don’t Stop ‘Til you Get Enough, Beat It, Bad and his crowning achievement Thriller. His success continued in the 1990s even amid the child sex abuse allegations, releasing the HiStory album. And veteran gamers will of course remember his video game on the Sega Genesis based off another hit of the same name: Michael Jackson’s Moonwalker.
Though the death appears to have been confirmed, this is still a changing and evolving, but major story not just for our community for much of entertainment at large. This is a sad day if this turns out to be true. Everyone is reporting him in a coma at the moment except TMZ, who have announced him dead.

He’s definately dead. I just saw it on the news. On several channels. It’s a shame. Sure, he was a bit of a wierd one, but hey, what’s wrong with that? Sure, there were numerous accusations, but none of them could be proven.

I was a very huge Michael Jackson fan when I was a child. When I grew up, I stopt listening to his music as much as I did before, but nevertheless, I have always had a lot of respect for him and I loved him as a human beiing. He was truely one of the most influential people in the music industry and I think he was also one of the greatest people on earth! Rest in Peace, Michael! You have deserved a better place!
I’ve never been a real fan of MJ, but he was an awesome musician and dancer (not too many people can do the moonwalk). Rest in Peace, Michael.
I’ve always prayed the accusations weren’t true, and I hope he’s found his peace that he missed in life. MJ’s story is a prominent lesson(along with the issues of modern pop singers) of the dangers of celebrity. Rest in peace.

According to Naoto Oshima-san, Sonic’s shoes were based on Michael Jackson.
He is but for the grace of God now. I fear for the future of the industry now that such a figure no longer exists. Yet another man too soon, lost to the abyss of the ages.

i got a text from my girlfriend way earlier saying that M.J. had passed. at first i thought it was a joke because last year i got a text like this one but it was a cruel joke…this was real…plus when i seen that sonic 3 music thing with M.J. i felt kinda shocked because since last week i have been playing sonic 3! thats a little freaky to me considering the fact that i haven’t played it for so long and just started playing it around the time of his death!…but anyway, i cant really actually say that i was a fan because i’ve never listened to his music but my respects go out to him…R.I.P Michael Jackson R.I.P

Stop mourning over MJ. He deserves no respect. He bought out the Beatles catalogue (moments later after talking with Paul McCartney who thought of MJ’s wish to buy their music a joke) , molested little boys, and was never revolutionary.
If anything we should mourn over Farah and that karate guy. At least they weren’t freaks. I may like MJ’s music, but he deserves no respect.
