No Data Lost; No Indication Attack from Within Community
You may have noticed that TSSZ News had suffered a widespread outage during most of the day today and yesterday.
That’s because our service had been part of a larger distributed denial of service attack, or DDoS attack, waged Sunday on the server TSSZ is hosted on. Our providers had quickly fixed the problem, but neglected to update IP addresses for TSSZ News.
The DDoS problem affected several websites–not just us–and no data was lost in the attack.
Though this site has been threatened with DDoS attacks in the past, there is no indication that this particular execution was deliberately targeted at TSSZ News.
We are now back online with the assistance of providers. TSSZ News regrets the inconvenience the site outage caused to our readers.
