Engine and Game get Homebrew Console Ports
Stealth is again among the major showstoppers at this year’s expo.
Not only are new builds available for his ongoing Sonic fan projects Project Mettrix and the engine behind said game, the E02 Engine, but several ports have been announced for both, including ports to the Mac, Linux operated PCs, the Nintendo Wii, and the Playstation Portable.
E02′s Release 8 includes a multitude of additional features and bug fixes, and can be used on just about any PC, whether it’s Windows, DOS, or Linux based. There’s also support for Intel and PowerPC enabled Macintosh computers with OS X. Playstation Portable and Nintendo Wii versions are also supported.
Though the wording isn’t clear, PC and Wii support are a definite for Project Mettrix, and seeing as it’s being built with E02, it’s likely you’ll be able to play it on the other aforementioned systems as well. This 2009 demo contains a new area, the Bronze Lake Zone, and should homebrewers want to play it on the Wii, support for all controllers is included.
In addition, Stealth is showing off a third work, a Mega Man fan game, called Triple Threat. The game is also being developed using E02.
You can find all three of these by hitting up SAGE, going to the Booths section, and clicking on “Project Mettrix.” This game in particular will be a part of our review sessions in the coming week, so be sure to come back for that.

I played the demo on my Wii. It was actually quite good, and was accurate to the original engine. Definately my favourite at this year’s SAGE.
