SAGE 2009: Chao Life

SAGE_2009“The Real Chao Simulator” on Display, Screenshots Inside

It’s not very often that you see Chao represented much anywhere, much less the Sonic Amateur Games Expo.  Introduced in Sonic Adventure as an A-Life feature, their role has been reduced to a more cute, collective nature in Sega’s environment with the recent release of Sonic Unleashed.

It’s been a long time since Chao have seen a major role like the one given to them in Chao Life, the brain child of Anton Huckleberry Games.  Described as a “Real Chao Simulator,” there’s much more to this than a simple Tamagotchi-esque environment, according to the creator:

You can play games, collect rings, enter competitions, customise your garden, watch T.V, visit a plastic surgeon and everything else you would expect from a light-hearted childs game!

As your Chao gets older and you improve its stats with food and/or Chaos Drives, it will transform based on its type (Hero, Neutral and Dark,) and also its stats. There are over 30 different types of Chao to be, and you can even include your own…what will you become?

We’ve provided a few screenshots of Chao Life below.  To see the rest of them and download the game, head to SAGE, click on “Booths,” and search for the Chao Life button.
