Rebirth Producer Admits Buggy Final Build “Was Rushed”

rebirthAlso Concedes Poor Bug Testing Before Release

It may not have been the road to SAGE, but the rush to SAGE that’s behind a still buggy final release of Sonic Rebirth.

The game’s creator told forumers on Sonic Fan Games HQ that he’s working feverishly to correct numerous problems, from nuisance level to glitches that hinder progress and, in some cases, make Sonic Rebirth nearly unplayable.

“Yes, it was rushed,” he wrote under the screen name leon.  “I’m trying to solve every problem.”

The concession was made on the heels of several complaints about Rebirth, both on SFGHQ and elsewhere.  The game was a marquee title promoted for this year’s Sonic Amateur Games Expo, and only one of a handful of SFGs that has ever made it to completion.

“Yes, the beta testing was poor,” leon continued.  “That’s why I want to make everything right.”

And the community is trying to chip in, sending in bug reports for places in Rebirth where they find problems.  If you find a glitch, you are urged to speak up about it, as leon will be fixing them over time.

It could still take some time for the community to see a non-buggy rebirth of Rebirth, however, as leon believes there are major problems in more than 20 areas of the game.

Many observers have pointed out that while the game’s art direction is incredible, it is these problems that have so few coming back for more gameplay.
