Blender the Tool of Choice
What you’ll be looking at below is the last in a four part series we stumbled upon by YouTube user athbucket. It’s time lapsed, and it shows the tail end of how he modeled the Sonic & the Black Knight variant of Sonic using Blender.
For aspiring 3D modelers, you can look at athbucket’s channel to see the model go from start to finish. It’s a very insightful look on to how to visualize an image originally provided as flat 2D, and make it your own. In this case, athbucket took imagery we showed you some months back, and proceeded to model away. In all, it only took a few hours to go from start to finish.
The modeler is an avid Sonic fan and has modeled another character, Shadow which you can also see via his YouTube channel.f

I’ve would been intrested if it was a tutorial. I’m learning 3D modeling right now. So for me that would have been more intresting. But it is still very good. But it is many that can do it like that, so not something special, but still cool.
Now THAT is impressive!
Mind blowing.
Hmm.,… But why not build off fomething else instead of the Black Knight model like… you know, an illustration, maybe? Something to be even more impressive.
Very impressive. Maybe he will allow people to use the model for all the 3D Sonic engines there are.
