Another Day, Another Black Eye for Sega
They’ve both been leaked.
That’s according to Spanish Sonic site Sonic Paradise and its reporter Jack Wallace, who has again written in to TSSZ News to tell us the Nintendo DS edition of Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games is now also floating around on torrents and downloading sites. That makes both versions that are now out through illicit means, about a week before the scheduled launch.
We don’t have specifics but the package, if it can be found, appears to be up to 128 MB, with a few clocking in as low as 81 MB. According to the report, there’s also some question as to whether this too filtered out of Europe, or if it’s a US based leak. We don’t know the answer to that right now.
One comment to the Sonic Paradise story does confirm the existence of a leak for the DS edition. This, as Sega is working feverishly to remove videos on YouTube showing gameplay from the leaked Wii edition.
We’ll continue to keep you updated as new information becomes available. As it stands, this now appears as a complete security failure on Sega’s part to keep one of their prized titles, expected to sell millions, out of the Internet’s hands.

Maybe this is part of their advertisement campaign they were talking about. ;P
Seriously, SEGA, if you’re going to leak something, leak something we care about, like Project Needlemouse info.
wow they’ve been leaking more often in recent games, and its a shame because the game is looking great, this could swipe away some sales.
Wow this sucks. Almost like when that X men movie was leaked
Apparently the DS game that’s leaked out on the internet has a major anti-piracy block to it. It’s the USA version.
Wow. Checklist time!

My checklist of leaked stuff, it’s coming along very nice.
Its probably that the game was from a review copy. That’s what I’m starting to think keeps happening; someone either goes rogue and decides to hack a review copy of the game… or someone just steals a review copy. Either way.
leaks leaks leaks eh? lol.
Considering a large amount of the focus of SEGA’s marketing plan for the original M&S was for casual players, most of whom wouldn’t know a ROM if it was sentinent enough to stare them in the face…and a LOT of casual players bought the first M&S…
…well, it’s of concern, but I don’t think it’s going to hurt them THAT bad. o________o
And it can’t be considered a total failure by the company, considering you haven’t been able to validate WHERE the leak came from yet. For all you know, some dude at some game store thought it’d be a great idea to totally leak what would be one of the season’s top sellers early. It happens all the time in the music industry and has no sign of stopping.
Nintendo and 54 other game companies recently cracked down on piracy in Japan, was Sega part of that?If not, they should think about joining them, utilize some of Nintendo’s monetary muscle.
