Blog Post for “So Much More” Includes Big Audio Cue
Bentley Jones is definitely recording something new. The “rumor” part comes in as to what the piece is for–it could be for Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing.
This all started when the artist posted a 1 minute live recording of So Much More. We have that video for you below. Take note, though of something written on his official blog, regarding the track:
…For those of you who already have questions about this song – there’s a BIG clue in the video… (~____^)I’m planning on getting you all involved with this project, so be prepared!! (*___*!!)
That “clue” comes at the end of the video…when one can hear the sound of cars racing. That has lead many to believe Bentley Jones may be laying down a track for ASR. Whether it would be a main theme or something else isn’t clear, and probably won’t be for a while if this holds–but adding fuel to the fire is the relay of the So Much More video on the Sonic City Blognik.
So, while watching the video below, remember to treat this as a rumor–as we are–and discuss your thoughts in the comments section.

Oh no…
I hate every song he’s ever done except Silvers theme(I think he did that one…) my most hated of his works was his ‘seven rings in hand’ one…. terrible…
Awesome! Bentley hasn’t failed us yet. I’d love if he’d make an album full of Sonic music remixes.
I prefer Crush 40, but Bentley is awesome too!
Bently is really good but I just have to prefer Crush 40. They are awesome!
LIVE AND LEARN!
Given that Crush 40 did the Daytona USA soundtracks, it would be largely appropriate for them to lay down new and old tracks for ASR.
I actually think its pretty good even though its a ittle cheesey
Could be for Sega Racing Classic…
There’s a car sound, but how does the song itself actually sound like something that would be in ASR?
Yes, he’s back.
He DID make the Open Your Heart remix with Crush 40, and that was pretty bitchin’, so I have faith in him.
Call me silly for saying this, but what if it’s for Project Needlemouse? The sound effect at the end could possibly be a car, yes, but it also could be emphasizing Sonic zooming in high speed…..
You never know until more is announced. Besides, it sounds like a theme that would apply to Sonic’s character. If so, it would be a cool theme for him.
1 heard that same sound from the first sega all stars racing trailer but it could still be something else….
“Bentley Jones may be laying down a track for ASR”
Pun intended? =)
I’ve pretty much liked all of his tunes, except for seven rings in hand which was too lethargic for my tastes…
@omegasash: That one’s my favourite, easy.
mabey they should add both him and crush 40 together for one song
Nah that would suck
To AngelJump…
I agree! I think this could possibly be for Project Needlemouse. The lyrics are what really makes me think that way.
“…’cause I can’t look back, no more turning back till I find my way back home… And I know, I’ve gotta be so much more than this, but what could I be, if not me… You can’t map out my destiny. Gotta be lost before you can be found…”
Think about it, people! This almost sounds like Sonic’s story, the bad rep he’s had during his 3D adventures and he’s now returning to his 2D roots. Finding his way back home, eh? You could say he’s been a little lost here recently, couldn’t you? He doesn’t have to put up with the constant nagging of the big wig game reviewers, he’s got to be so much more…
Of course, it could just be a very deep and awesome theme for ASR, right? ^-^”
Simply love Bentley Jones, and that song up there is AWSOME :’) made me cry beautifull
Сool song!! Keep up the good work, Bentley!
I hope he’s going to make music for ASR! That would be awsome! I like him more than Crush40….I mean….I’m pretty tierd of them now. It’s just that….well, you have to hear one song and then you’ve heard them all. It’s like the same song repeating everytime with smal changes.
I know that Betnly isn’t better in that kind of way. He has his style and it’s the same thing nearly every time. But I still think he’s a better choice than Crush 40. But I’m kinda glad that they haven’t made so much Sonic music latley. They didn’t do anything for SU for exampel. But I don’t hate them or something, I’m only tierd of them.
So I hope they use other people and Bently for future Sonic soundtrack, but Crush40 sometimes.
Well, that’s just my opinion.
But as John Taylor said above, it can be for another racing game or smething. But I’m hoping for ASR.
@Blueontherun: Yeah, they have tried with that kind of songs since… Sonic 06. Just listen to His world. Yeah, it’s about Sonics world where he lives and all that! They wanted Sonic 06 to be Sonics new home after all bad 3D games. And in Sonic Unleashed. We got Endless possibility! And there we got it even more! Just listen! SU was the possibility for Sonic too come back again. Aaaand now we got needlemouse. But I still think this is for all stars racing. Hey, it’s cars you here.
Cars = ASR. It’s that simple.
I think SEGA should get the rights and get the Dream Theater song ‘Constant Motion’
Honestly Crush 40′s new stuff is terrible and so is alot of there old stuff…
its like encyclopedia dramatica said… “pretty much every fan who stayed with sonic after adventure 2′s favorite band is Crush 40″ amd thats why I dont like the band… so overrated
I forgot to add… that was one of the worst songs Ive ever heard…
almost as bad as every panic at the disco and fallout boy song ever
cool song ^^
@ Blueontherun:
Yeah! That’s exactly why I thought it fits Sonic perfectly! But, that was clever of you to add how you thought about the “find my way back home” part. I didn’t think about it until you mentioned it. What irony in the lyrics, huh?
And, I still think it’s Sonic running in high speed instead of a car (even though it sounds like one). It just doesn’t seem like somethng that would go w/ a game about racing. Also, thinking about it, they didn’t have a theme for AST (Sega All-Star Tennis). But, then again, I could be wrong. They just might surprise us.
Hahaha oh god, I got massive shades of Sonic R listening to that.
If ASR has an ultra-corny pop rock thing going like Sonic R did, I might actually. Pay some money for i- okay that’s a lie. I might torrent the OST though.
@edge:
As I have not taken the time to listen to this song, reading this comment made me frown. Not because I am a fan, but I HATE his vocals. He took “They Call Me Sonic”, chucked it in a blender, took an axe to its metaphorical head, twisted its guts in a knot, and presented it to the world. Seriously, I hate this guy. His singing has Jonas Brothers written all over it. It’s weak, it has no passion put in it, no effort, just a bland attempt to try to be cool. It all relies on the sex appeal, which MUSIC IS NOT ABOUT.
And now with your comment, I hope to god, this is not our theme for Needlemouse. The lyrics I read actually sound like a great song, but with how you’re talking has a weak execution. SIGH. So much for actual music…
@GREG THE CAT: Eh. It’s all opinion. Of course, for you, it’s an opinion that goes against that of the majority of the fanbase, and we all know that ‘anybody who has a different opinion to the so-called (vocal) majority should be extradited’, but hey.
@Daniel: They did team up. The song was Open Your Heart. Shockingly, even my brother thought it was awesome, and he’s just like Greg up there.
Eh… I listened to it.
And just like most of his work, it was lackluster. Mr. Edge nailed the truth. This is horrendous. His vocals are terribly nasally, and his pitch is going up and down in really stupid places. What can I say? I can see him alongside the Jonas Brothers. Terribly untalented people who spam the music industry with crap.
Yeah, I think I’ll go listen to some Pink Floyd now…. Their descendants, The Polyphonic Spree, should’ve been hired to do some PHENOMENAL Sonic music.
Well he’s involved with the Sonic franchise, and ASR is coming soon…
Something to do with cars, well, sounds like SASR.
OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG
I just peed a little.
@GREG: And the likelihood of actually hiring them to do music for a franchise that is universally hated across the entire internet and panned among critics is…? The actual likelihood of getting them to perform for something which may suddenly drive their career into the ground if SEGA fucks up yet again (no, WILL drive their career into the ground, because SEGA WILL fuck up yet again) is…?
And if anybody reckons the game is going to be immediately ruined by the obvious cheesiness of the song, then I’ll just start to wonder why they didn’t leave the franchise the moment Crush40 started writing lyrics… because, while Jun’s godly with tunes…
perfect! =D!
Yeah Right
