Voting Underway for Sonic Site Awards 2009

5 Categories, with One Site in 4 of Them

How fitting it is on the US election day that you can begin voting now in the Sonic Stadium’s annual Sonic Site Awards, a year end celebration of the little guys in the Sonic community.

After taking a break last year and being scaled down in 2007, the preliminary nominations have been tallied by TSS webmaster Svend Joscelyne, and the decision has been made to only offer one award proper, with four “micro-awards,” as Joscelyne puts it.

Sonic: Zone 0 appears to be the site to beat, as it’s not only competing for the proper Sonic Site Award of 2009, but also in three other categories, including Information Station, Best Design/Layout, and Community of the Year.  Other SSA nominees include Brazilian site Power Sonic, TSSZ News affiliate Saturday Morning Sonic, the presently neglected Sonic Factory, and Black Hero–another main link that didn’t work when we checked it out.  It’s a good thing the site’s forums, which are online, are also among the nominations.

Of note among all the nominees is the strong international presence.  Six nominees in the SSAs are non-English websites.

You can cast your votes in all five categories here until December 6th.  A special broadcast on TSS arm SegaSonic Radio will announce the winners.
