A Pair of Sonic #1s on EBay

Tristan Oliver | November 23, 2009

Sonic SceneOne is from Archie; The Other…

Pick a pair of comics.  They’ll both set you back a hundred bucks, but one may have more Sonic significance to the other.

The first pops up on EBay from time to time.  It’s issue #1 of the Archie comic series.  It’s being sold by a local shop on EBay, and you can “Buy it Now” for $99.95.  Keep in mind, however, that this appears to mark the beginning of the primary Archie arc, and not the Sonic mini-series that begins with issue #0.

The second may be more valuable–it’s the Sega issued Sonic comic, but it may be gone by the time you read this.  It’s marked issue #1, from 1991.  At present, no bids have been placed on the item.  It may be worth a look if you’ve got a cool hundred lying around–if it’s still there.

    Way over priced. Bought the 1991 issue for $32 a while back, and constantly see issue 1 between $9 and $24. Side note, bought two issue 0’s and 1’s of the original miniseries as well as issue 2, 3 and 4 for $19.

    Freaking overpriced, I got two of the #1 for about $40 total.

    As for the mini comic, expecting $100 for it is kinda pushing it. Never seen one snatched up (away from my bidding hands Q_Q) for more than $60.

    You want a good price check this out http://cgi.ebay.com/Sonic-the-Hedgehog-Comic-book-issue-1-4-rare-issue_W0QQitemZ150388527049QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item2303dacfc9

    This has actually been up for a while and has even been re-listed once. The trick is to never go for the first thing you see, just wait it out. I waited 4 years to buy 4 issues for around $12 each that usually go fro around $75-$90 dollars each. By waiting longer I got the better price. Same thing for the mini comic, by waiting years I paid $32 instead of $60 or $99. It might take longer but I save in the end, plus now my collection is almost complete, just a few missing between 1 and 24 of the main series.

    @MilesDX

    That is such a good deal XD So I went to buy it and for some reason, the seller blocked me from buying it.

    What in Green Hills name is going on? D8 I didn’t know you can blacklist on eBay.

    Was this comic ever scanned? I don’t remember it.

    I already have the Archives series, so this is pretty much pointless. I know the original mini-series is almost $900. Each issue, I mean.

    The original mini-series never went for $900 each.
